Okay - I'm always sick of downloading bootlegs that have been labelled as being excellent quality and then just find that they sound awful.. so this is for people to post must have, clear quality finds to share with others.

I know of 3, from <<these things inside>> (http://thesethingsinside.wordpress.com/category/inspirational-music/tori-amos-inspirational-music/) by Jason Elijah - all which are radio broadcasts of full shows and are from '96, '98 and '05.

2005-06-28 Frankfurt, Germany (radio broadcast)

I know! It's disturbing downloading a bootleg only to find out it's not excellent soundboard quality!

Frankfurt 2005 is actually a rare pre-FM recording... meaning it was never actually ripped from a broadcast and came directly off a promo CDR. It's the best quality you can get in a bootleg, and as far as I know there are only two other pre-FM boots: Polish Radio 3 from 2001, and that 1994 bootleg that's been circulating under a hundred different names. I can upload the 2001 one later, it's definitely a must-have.

My favourite bootlegs are audience recordings. I love how they sound, I never really liked soundboard recordings, I don't know why. I'd take an audience recording over one of those "Legs & Boots" anyday. It has that "live" feel to it.
I'd upload some, but it seems that you find the quality of said recordings unacceptable.

The majority of 2001 audience boots are really excellent quality; very clear. You should definitely get some.

i agree. i think soundboard kind of zaps the energy out of the songs a little bit because you don't hear the audience. i was listening to chicago '07 boot (the vic show) and remembered that the audience had a sing-a-long to happy phantom. but you can't hear us at all! sure if you did hear it, it might be annoying for someone who's listening to the boot but wasn't at the show, but i'd absolutely LOVE to be able to "relive" it, so to speak.

To be honest I don't want to hear the audience especially singing (usually out of tune) or clapping along (usually out of time) it's off putting, but I do want to hear the lovely ambience. The natural reverb of the piano and Tori's voice is beautiful, which you can lose on soundboard recordings.
Most of the 2001 boots capture the atmosphere well.

At the same time, it's also nice to hear samples and effects purely through the soundboard, so I'd take either as long as they are clear.

Bumpy.. I just downloaded the Helsinki 2011 bootleg. The sound quality is incredible! It sounds like the soundboard. Are there any others from 2011 by the same recorder or that sound just as good?

Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Essen and Toronto, I think, are really good recordings, maybe not as good as Helsinki but pretty HQ anyway!

I'm trying to think of other good soundboard/tv/radio stuff that I have in lossless, but I haven't even looked at my Tori bootlegs in so long. PBS Soundstage from 2003 is great, much better than the WTSF shit although it's only half a show. I have a ton of radio stuff from 1996 but aside from the Meter Sessions and Acoustic Cafe (Abbey Road & Oom La Boomleigh), I can't remember what's good.

There's a lot of live shows that were on the radio in 1998, but they're from the beginning of the tour, and IMO the performances aren't the greatest. The band didn't really have it together yet.

Sessions at West 54 is one of my favorites but the quality is kind of ropey - ripped from AVI, etc. I would love to get a pristine version of that, and Storytellers and PPV too.

I'm a lot into 1994 bootlegs lately and the best (as in clearest sounding) I've heard so far imo are "Summertime" (Berlin Apr 9, 1994) and "Tori Stories UTP Live Tour" (London Mar 29, 1994)

"Summertime" is great with the lossless version from ToriTraders, it's much higher quality than the mp3 one that is floating around.

^ That's the one I have.
I also really like the Milan 1994 bootleg. It's a pretty standard set, but nice clear recording.
2001 - any recommendations / must-haves? I already have London, Kissimmee, Chicago and Oberhausen.

I would go with Austin 2001, Oakland 11/12/2001, any of the florida boots, or Salt Lake City....

Those are the best sound quality wise IMO

Nothing else quite that good, but the ones taped by easy77 are really good. The Manchester second source boot is pretty good too.

What are your favorite 1998 boots, aside from "Hamburg Swirl" or "Plugged in Berlin?"

I like Toronto from the club tour, Akron, and Louisville.

What else are the good ones as far as sound quality and performance?

I really like the Luxembourg bootleg. Great sound, great setlist and great (i.e. quiet) audience.

Yeah, it's not bad at all. There's a couple of sources for the Essen bootleg, and Easy77's is probably my favourite (despite mobile feedback at the start of Shattering Sea but that was coming though the speakers,) as it's very crisp. I find the American boots very difficult to listen to, especially during Star Whisperer with all the fool constantly cheering every second.
