This thread is for PC gamers to get news and info about up-and-coming free-to-play (f2p) games and also score recommendations on games that are already free. There are tons of good games currently in locked beta and once word gets out about release I'll update the thread. I'm fairly biased in what I play, so there are tons of other free games that I may not mention in here, that you might actually prefer more than what I prefer. Check out the links at the bottom of this post to see the resources so you can find some of your own.

Please feel free to add your own!

My recommendations for free games are as follows:

All Points Bulletin (APB) (http://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/?fbid=UrmUnqft1-W) - If you liked GTA IV multiplayer then you'll probably love this. It has pretty outstanding player customization, nice graphics and a very large player base.

Drakensang Online (http://www.drakensang.com/) - Reminiscent of Diablo, but lacking the fervor and gloom/doom this is a decent browser-based game with very good graphics. Some people might like this, but I just can't get into it. I don't much care for the quest-run system. But, I decided not to overlook this game as it is very popular and deserves a spot in the thread.

DC Universe Online (http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/) - An excellent MMO for fans of comic books and super heroes/villains. Character customization is excellent and the game world is massive consisting of various cities within the DC universe (hence, the name). Got a unique idea for a character? You can create it. The only downfall, IMO, is the repetitive quest grinding, but this is typical among many MMOs.

Star Trek Online (https://register.perfectworld.com/sto_splash) - Recently F2P this is an outstanding game set in the lore and world of Star Trek. Excellent graphics and gameplay. There's so much to do here that it boggles the mind. You can fly around space, land on planets... just about everything you might expect or hope from a Star Trek game. The better your system the more options you have to see the beauty of the game. I know of no other game that can bring the story of trekking through the universe quite like this one. Character and ship customization is excellent.

Black Prophecy (http://www.blackprophecy.com/) - One of the best-looking F2P games I've ever seen. And you'll need a good computer to run it, too, especially if you want to max the graphics out. I've warned you!
Black Prophecy is strictly a space-faring MMO. It's all about your ship and the universe and what you do within that universe. If you want more than to just fly around space, but still want the space experience, then I suggest Star Trek Online.

Blacklight: Retribution (http://blacklight.perfectworld.com/) - A first-person shooter fresh off the block (released on April 3rd 2012). A graphics hog, but one of the best F2P FPS games I've ever played. The music is pretty good, too :p

Aion (http://truly-free.aiononline.com/) - It's a big, pretty world. And you get to fly around in it. Very robust MMORPG that recently went F2P (I had no idea!). Huge lore. One of the best-looking MMORPGs out there. If you like Final Fantasy games you might feel right at home here. And it's free! WoW is so old. :p
