Hey folks,

Just wondering what everyone's favourite has been so far? Not your favourite song as such, but your favourite on this tour so far and one you most look forward to seeing live.

I adored seeing/hearing 'Parasol' and 'iieee' in person, both so powerful.

I'm intrigued: why does Parasol appear as the first song every show? Has it every single show? Just checked a few random set lists. Any thoughts?

It's based on a painting, and UG is centered around visual arts. She's opened every show with it.

Yes, it just seems quite strange because it's from TBA era and it's every single show. It's like a statement but bugger me if I know what it means. Maybe that she's entering a new era? When she comes to terms with her status as an older performer (the whole tuning 50 thing)?

She's definitely done something similar in the past. 98 opened with Precious Things, and 99 opened with God...neither of which were from the album she was promoting at the time.

Cornflake Girl never, ever gets old, but the arrangement/treatment of Parasol this time out is exquisite. so dark and powerful

Parasol opening the shows makes so much sense. With the song being based on a painting with the UG visual art connections. As well as the lyrics "When I come to terms with this my world will change for me." That really works with the whole dealing with getting older theme as well. Plus I just love the piano slam in the middle too!
