It is! I saw her play an in-store album launch gig on Friday. She was so great!

Coming very soon after their last I'm surprised and excited to have new Big Thief!

Big Thief - Not (Official Audio)

From last month this new one from Anna Meredith is a contender for video of the year:

    Anna Meredith - Paramour

Apparently it was all done in one take with a whole lot of crawling around on the floor!

Poppy’s music is ridiculous now. Totally forced fusion just for LOL’s. Not the worst thing but not something I care to hear more than twice.

Orchid Mantis - releasing an ep or album (can't deduce) "Light as Leaving" in a week or so.

I really enjoyed last year's "Yellow House".

I know it has been said before, but I want to iterate... Remind me tomorrow by Sharon van Etten is just really great. It slowly but steadily climbed its way to the top of my most played albums of 2019. There are no fillers and I keep returning to it.

Wow the new Nick Cave is pretty great. Never thought we’d hear an “ethereal” album from him, but here it is. Fortunately for us, he isn’t the one doing the ethereal vocal parts, LOL. “Ghosteen” is apparently an Irish term for a child ghost and you can really hear the pain of his loss here, even more so than Skeleton Tree. I haven’t really liked an album of his in over a decade.

Yep - adding the suffic -ín at the end of pretty much any noun in Irish means "little". It's anglicised to -een often and used with english words too colloquially.

Speaking of the new Nick Cave, ummmmm, SUN FOREST???? That song epitomizes “painfully beautiful”. Bright Horses too.

The new Nick Cave is amazing! I'm obsessed with it right now. I am almost certain nothing will top it this year for me. It immediately clicked for me. The glowing reviews are right

“Hollywood” references the same mustard seed story that Tori used in “Beekeeper.”

This album is beautiful and heartbreaking. I think my favorite lyric is in “Fireflies” — “A star is just a memory of a star / We are fireflies, pulsing dimly in the dark / We are here and you are where you are.”

I'm glad I'm not the only one who immediately noticed this. I excitedly told my husband and got an eye roll.

I tried listening to it but it's so harrowing, I couldn't get through it in one sitting. So beautiful but filled with pain.
